ProcessWire 3.0.57 and admin theme framework updates
ProcessWire 3.0.57
Admin theme framework updates
Just a quick update for you this week. Much of the focus went towards continuing work on the new admin theme we've discussed over the last few weeks. This week, some more layout options have been added to it that I think many may find useful. Lots of small details and tweaks have been getting attention as well. But I'm a little short on time this afternoon, so rather than try to describe everything, I made another screencast:
These updates are available now in the current AdminThemeUikit module. Note however that you'll need core version 3.0.57, also released today. This core version doesn't contain any new features per se, but does contain several adjustments to support new features in our admin theme framework. Hope that you all have a great weekend and enjoy reading the ProcessWire Weekly!
Lovely work. I had to update about 50 pages this week. It was slow going until I installed 3.0.56, enabled the side bar and zipped through them. Such an efficient way to work.
If we build theme that are base of this theme / use the new framework, how many of these features can be disabled. Some features like the add new page and the huge drop down menus tend to confuse some of my clients. Would love to be able to develop an ultra minimalist theme.
For my use though I am looking forward to these features.
Also is it to early to start developing off of these updates?
I love the tree view on the side! Brilliant addition, the tree view such a nice interface too navigate complex content structure and now you can keep you context present while editing content... and all that Peter Kinght said! Love it!
Hi, Ryan, very nice additions! Especially like the possibility for custom files!
As stated last week I am testing on mobile, to be precise on an iPad, an iPad Pro and an iPhone. On these devices I spotted 2 UX problems:
1. If any of the new sidebars are activated via module settings, you are not able to scroll any more. With the default setting (sidebar menu only; click on PW logo) scrolling works, though.
2. The width of the sidebars is not changeable by touch input.
This week we have a new core version on the development branch and some nice updates to our Uikit admin theme in development. This post covers them in detail, includes a screencast and links to a live demo of the updates. More
This week we have a new core version on the dev branch with several tweaks and PRs. Work also continues on the Uikit admin theme framework, and more. More

Custom Fields Module This week we look at a new ProFields module named Custom Fields. This module provides a way to rapidly build out ProcessWire fields that contain any number of subfields/properties within them.

“We were really happy to build our new portfolio website on ProcessWire! We wanted something that gave us plenty of control on the back-end, without any bloat on the front end - just a nice, easy to access API for all our content that left us free to design and build however we liked.” —Castus, web design agency in Sheffield, UK

★★★★★This is super sexy! I love the updates to the sidebar handle, it now fits much better with the theme and far less windows 95. Great work!

★★★★★Really elegant design Ryan! I love using the theme. Also briliant work with the dev branch. It is already really stable to use.
The only thing I noticed, was that the "add bookmark" action creates an empty line in the black sidebar.
Thank you a lot for this theme!
