TemplateFile::halt() method

This method can be called by any template file to stop further render inclusions

This is preferable to doing an exit; or die() from your template file(s), as it only halts the rendering of output and doesn't halt the rest of ProcessWire.

Can be called from prepend/append files as well.

USAGE from template file is: return $this->halt();

Usage

// basic usage
$templateFile->halt();

// usage with all arguments
$templateFile->halt($halt = true);

Arguments

NameType(s)Description
halt (optional)bool, string

If given boolean, it will set the halt status. If given string, it will be output (3.0.239+)

Return value

$this

Object instance it was called from (method supports fluent interface).

“To Drupal, or to ProcessWire? The million dollar choice. We decided to make an early switch to PW. And in retrospect, ProcessWire was probably the best decision we made. Thanks are due to ProcessWire and the amazing system and set of modules that are in place.” —Unni Krishnan, Founder of PigtailPundits
